The Steampunk Corset Binder Class

Learn to use notions without fear.

The binder from my #SewPINK post is becoming a class. It's a quilted cover for a 3-ring binder that holds your patterns, your notes, and everything else, made to look like a laced-up corset. Feminine, but empowering.

What you'll learn

This class is about using notions in ways you might not have thought of, and getting past the shyness so many of us have about using them.

Everything is planned so there are minimal binding issues.

  • Corset lacing without grommetsButton tabs made from double-fold bias tape, with ribbon tied through.
  • Ribbons as boningRibbon strips that read as corset boning.
  • Attaching laceWe love lace, but don't always know where to start. Here's how to attach it effectively.
  • GimpStraight stitch or blanket stitch, and why each looks different.
  • A zipper pocketZipper techniques, inside the cover.
  • BeadingBeads to hold down the lace and to accent it.
